I know I've been posting 'new items' lately but I wanted to stress the savings you can have with 'new to you' items. We recently purchased our crib furniture off of Craigslist for a fraction of what it would cost new. The set is beautiful and included a crib, crib mattress, changing table and armoire. We started planning several months in advance. Jason and I both decided on what we were willing to spend and then searched our local Craigslist for sets in that price range. We checked the updated postings in our area daily until we found one we both liked and at a price we were willing to pay. We also offered less than the asking price and the seller accepted our offer. ALWAYS offer less than asking price. We have purchased so many items off Craigslist and ALWAYS offer less. It's usually easier to do over the phone or through e-mail before you even go look at the item than when you're there looking at the item.
